CCRI marks 4th anniversary of Right to Information Act in Nepal

Citizens' Campaign for Right to Information (CCRI) organized an interaction programme '3 Years of Right to Information Act' on 19, 2010 at SAP Falcha, Kathmandu. The program was chaired by Mr. Taranath Dahal, Chairperson of CCRI and former president of Federation of Nepalese Journalist. Chief Information Commissioner of National Information Commission, Vinaya Kasajoo was the chief guest of the program.

 

The program was organized with objectives to mark the 3 years enforcement of RTI Act. CCRI published its study reports on implementation status of RTI. Earlier, it had also launched RTI video prepared by CCRI in collaboration with the Commission. Program followed by a discussion session where, participants made remarks and recommendations for the effective implementation of the RTI Act.

 

Before concluding the program, Chief Guest Mr. Kasajoo mentioned the need of effective implementation of RTI and urged for cooperation from civil society.  The Chairperson committed that civil society is always ready to help the commission and stressed on the role of RTI. The program was highly appreciated by participants who highlighted on the role played by CCRI to promote RTI.
