CCRI Participates in the Regional Workshop in New Delhi

A three-day South Asian Regional Workshop on "Towards More Open and Transparent Governance in South Asia" was held in New Delhi, 27-29 April 2010. The program was organized by the Indian Institute of Public Administration and supported by the World Bank. The main objective of the workshop was indentifying the national and regional priority on right to info rmation issues and to make coordination for implementation of the right.

 

Chairperson, Taranath Dahal and General Secretary, Tanka Raj Aryal from CCRI participated in the program. Mr. Dahal presented the country paper in the program. Government representatives, NGOs, RTI advocates and other stakeholders from Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Afghanistan participated in the workshop.

 

The workshop finalized a resolution indentifying priority for the adoption and effective implementation of right to information laws for promoting open and transparent government in South Asian region.
